We are recruiting on behalf of a Global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of high-speed metal forming and finishing machinery, with an $8.5 bn turnover, a reputation for excellence and operations in 41 countries. They have proudly achieved The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise for their international trade, innovation and sustainable development.

We are seeking a mechanical engineer with working knowledge of trackwork, conveyance and special purpose machinery to join their team following a recent introduction of a product line. The role will involve an element of travelling between sites across the UK. 

The salary on offer is £38,156 per annum plus benefits including:

Duties:
  • Produce all 3D models and associated 2D manufacturing drawings
  • Be involved in the development of new conveyance innovations 
  • Interpret and determine customer requirements for machine and trackwork integration.
  • Design and produce 3D CAD models and assemblies using Siemens NX CAD package.
  • Produce 2D technical drawings to support the manufacture and assembly of parts for prototypes, machine contracts and equipment orders
  • Responsible for the creation of accurate BOM’s for prototypes & customer orders, which in turn determines the Manufacturing and Supply Chain function’s work schedule.
  • Collaborate in the design of new parts and continuous development of existing parts / equipment to ensure competitive edge.
  • Be responsible for prototype testing, working with NPD team to evaluate and report on performance.
  • Complete mechanical specification confirmation documents for machine orders.
  • Provide technical support to the Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions with any manufacturing related queries as required.
  • Work with supply chain & sales depts to ensure commercial viability

About You:

You'll be apprentice trained and qualified to HNC / Degree level in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering. You'll have solid experience on Siemens NX CAD - Solid Modelling and drafting / 3D solid modelling package and knowledge of manufacturing processes to ensure component and assembly drawings are designed for manufacture and cost effective. Ideally you will have worked to BS8888 standards and have strong working knowledge of trackwork and conveyance design / complex special purpose machinery design and/or high-speed and bespoke machinery.
