About the Role:
As a Lead Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the full range of commissioning activities, including testing and ensuring the smooth operation of machinery in our springs department. You’ll collaborate with setters, operators, and other departments to guarantee seamless machine performance and respond swiftly to service user needs.
Your responsibilities will range from commissioning new installations and overseeing existing machinery moves to contributing to design and process improvements. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining safety standards, ensuring compliance with hazardous area regulations, and keeping detailed commissioning documentation. Additionally, you will be involved in preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure the efficient running of our machines.

- City & Guilds trained/qualified in mechanical engineering.
- Electrical experience desirable but not essential.
- Experience with FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic technical drawings.
- Competent in using computer systems for data recording and production.
- PLC experience is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work independently with strong time management.
- Physically fit with good manual handling skills.

The Role:
As a Technical Specification Manager, you’ll be the single technical point of contact for customer design teams from early-stage planning (Stage 3) through to purchase order (PO) or design confirmation (DCO). Your primary responsibility will be to proactively lead customer engagement, ensuring our full range of innovative products is specified. You’ll work closely with our Business Development Managers (BDMs) to align technical strategies and deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customer design teams.
Lead technical meetings to develop structurally sound and innovative solutions.
Use CAD to professionally convey design intent and options following design discussions.
Oversee and quality-check technical outputs prior to submission to customers.
Collaborate with BDMs to develop accurate proposals and communicate assumptions clearly.
Track and progress multiple projects, ensuring proactive management and timely handovers.
