About the Role:
As a Controls Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for bespoke automation projects. From the initial design phase to the final handover at customer sites, you'll be involved in creating innovative solutions tailored to customer needs. Key responsibilities include:
  • PLC, Robot, and HMI Programming: Develop software that meets customer specifications, with a focus on user-friendly interfaces.
  • Collaborative System Development: Work with the Electrical and Mechanical design teams to integrate components into fully functional systems.
  • Hardware Configuration & Quality Checks: Ensure hardware setup adheres to company and industry standards.
  • Standards Compliance: Implement and uphold BS/ISO and other industry standards throughout project lifecycles.
  • Project Management & CE Marking: Lead and manage projects, ensuring seamless delivery from concept to completion.

What You’ll Bring:
  • Qualifications: HNC in a relevant electrical/mechanical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • PLC Proficiency: Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Omron, Siemens) and creating HMI interfaces.
  • Motion Control Expertise: Familiarity with integrating actuators and motion control systems.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical drawings, troubleshoot issues, and document technical solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: A true team player who can also take the initiative when working independently.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience with robot programming (ABB, Omron, Yaskawa) and vision systems (Keyence, Cognex) is a plus, but not essential.
